About Us
The meaning behind the ACEs hub brand
We are excited to launch a redesigned ACEs hub website, along with a refreshed visual identity. Our new website was designed by Iva Kezic in collaboration with our entire team. Engaging in this creative process helped us to identify and communicate our mission, vision, and values.
Our choice to use an umbrella as the foundation of our brand was threefold:
- To represent the bringing together of ACEs research.
- To reference the high-level research synthesis called the “umbrella review,” which
systematically collects, assesses, and summarizes systematic reviews and meta-analyses—
the foundation of the ACEs catalogue. - To allow for a visual language that is broad enough to speak to the reality of trauma, while also
suggesting hope for—and pathways to—positive childhood experiences and resilience.
Mission
Our mission is to make scientific research on ACEs easy to access and use, allowing researchers, clinicians, and policymakers to apply it to improve the health and well-being of people affected by childhood adversity.
Vision
We envision a future where ACEs are widely understood and healthcare systems prioritize evidence-based trauma-informed care to inform conscientious decisions and meaningful actions that improve health and well-being.
Values
- Evidence-based decision making.
- Improved ease of access to research and data.
- Strengthened individual, family, and community resilience.
- Universal trauma-informed approach to care.
Our Team
ACEs hub was developed by a team of experts in clinical psychology, health informatics, social work, population and community health, knowledge translation, and mental health and wellness.
